To adjust tool for various fittings: set latch to position A for splice caps and lugs. Set latch to position B for larger caps.

To terminate wires with lugs

Strip wires approximately 5/16 in.
Slip lug on wire with latch set to position A
Insert into tool with flat side of lug in up position so tongue enters slot in latch and crimp

To splice wires when using splice caps

Strip wires approximately 3/4 in.
Insert wires through cap and twist
Insert into tool with latch set at appropriate position
Crimp, then cut flush
